Daily Duties at The Oil & Gas Asset Clearinghouse:
I used petroleum engineering procedures and techniques honed by experience to determine reasonable market values for managing sellers' expectations, i.e. to keep optimistic sellers realistic in arriving at their minimum bids. I was present at live auctions to monitor bids and to assist with immediate negotiations to sell properties for which bidding did not reach undisclosed minimum bids. Evaluation procedures consisted of reviewing historical oil and gas production histories and property characteristics to project future annual production volumes. Estimates of future product prices, expenses and capital costs were integrated with volume projections to project future cash flows. An extensive writeup of each evaluation result covered a selling property's positive and negative characteristics, as well as the economic metrics of discounted future cash flow value, first month's estimated cash flow, months of payout for discounted cash flow and $/equivalent barrel of reserves. Risked values for non-producing and undeveloped properties were added to values for currently producing properties.
