Daily Duties at Union Pacific Railroad:

• Strategically sourced suppliers for general services, facilities maintenance, derailments, roadway maintenance, Positive Train Control (PTC), and snow removal contracts for the Operations Department (Engineering, Mechanical, and Transportation Department) in the Northern/Western Regions. • Managed the competitive bidding process for assigned spend categories and implemented contracts consistent with the sourcing strategy. • Gathered service requirements for internal customers in the Northern/Western Region. • Developed new supplier-base for Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs). • Determined appropriate sourcing methods, and ensured that internal controls are in place to minimize contractual and audit issues. • Negotiated possible TCO savings with contractors. • Resolved vendor performance issues associated with invoice payments, contracts, and Contract Administration System (CAS) issues for internal customers/vendors. • Implemented Contract Administration System training/reference documents for continuity of Strategic Sourcing: Contracts Management for bids and vendor known requests.
