Daily Duties at Kansas State University :

• Work on projects involving starch analysis, modification and extrusion processing, including funded projects on novel delivery mechanisms for nutrition, value-added applications of grain sorghum and its co-products, and nanocomposites in packaging applications. • Serve as the carbohydrate polymers lab and extrusion lab research manager and give guidance for research activities. • Coordinate the activities of all graduate and undergraduate students involved in carbohydrate polymer research and extrusion research, and train them for using equipment and instruments as needed. • Conduct pilot-scale and laboratory experiments and data analysis for successful completion of research projects. • Prepare manuscripts for publication in various refereed and non-refereed journals. • Prepare and conduct presentations on ongoing research for various scientific and industrial research interests. • Develop research grants for intra and extramural funding sources. • Explore funding sources and collaboration with industry. • Assist in conducting workshops/ short courses for the industry from time to time.
