Completed the full design, building, validation and documenting of the series parallel elastic actuator based on a cylindrical cam mechanism. The cylindrical mechanism can actuate an unlimited number of springs, decreasing input torque to the torque needed to overcome friction. This device increases efficiency significantly, limits the necessary nominal torque of the motor, the necessary battery packs and prolongs the operating time of autonomous robots and exoskeletons.
