Daily Duties at Town And County Club:
The General Manager will have strong leadership qualities, good communication skills, and ability to build and train a successful team, self-motivator, intelligent, and a problem solver. The General Manager bears significant responsibility for the development and implementation of programs that contribute to the continuous improvement of the club’s “bottom line.” In this regard, the General Manager must completely appreciate the fact that the single most important contributor to the “bottom line’ is the success of the club’s membership sales and retention programs. The General Manager is responsible for budget preparation and execution as well as the planning and attainment of income and expense projections based on historic trends and anticipated business circumstances. The General Manager ensures that club operations are managed in accordance with the policies and procedures set forth by Board of Esential Functions: 1. Develops, maintains, and projects a positive management philosophy designed to enhance the professional and personal growth of club employees. 2. Provides direct, pro-active support that contributes to the accomplishment budgeted membership sales and retention goals. 3. Leads intelligence gathering to gain a solid understanding of Member and prospective member wants and needs, competitor club offerings and pricing and the Club’s market position. 4. Prepares and maintains reports concerning the financial progress of the club including its performance against budgeted income and expense objectives. 5. Supervises and participates in the controlling, inventorying, and purchasing food and beverage products. 6. Takes appropriate action whenever necessary to ensure the attainment of specified budgetary cost of goods sold and other identified expense categories. 7. Develops and presents for approval, the club’s quarterly financial analysis /annual budget. 8. Creates and maintains a positive workplace environment that fosters close coordination, excellent communications, and superior working relationships between and among the club’s subordinate leaders. 10. Ensures departments are properly staffed to meet Member demand. Strive for 0% vacancy at department head level. Identify internal and external candidates to backfill department head positions. Fill department head vacancies immediately. 11. Leads the club’s weekly staff meetings and participates in weekly corporate meetings. 12. Takes immediate corrective action to ensure that all club employees are properly attired, well groomed, and present an excellent professional appearance consistent with their position within the club. 13. Ensures the proper training and preparation of all subordinate club leaders to maximize their opportunity to succeed in their jobs. 14. Spearheads the performance management process including setting department head objectives, administering annual performance appraisals and providing input related to merit increases and bonus payouts. 15. Develops and maintains a personable, but always professional relationship with the club’s membership and the specific members of the club’s Board of Directors. 16. Initiates frequent action to minimize the impact of member delinquent club accounts. 17. Properly represents The Georgian Club in community.
