Daily Duties at The Colony Club:

The General manager coordinates all management functions of the club and works in concert with committee chairmen in assisting them in the development of proposed policies, programs, Plans his work schedule so as to be personally visible and readily accessible to members and their guests at the right times and in the right place. Assures the smooth, efficient daily operation of the club to provide the members and guests with the environment for which the club is renowned. Oversees a top-flight food and beverage operation, with appealing menus, properly priced, and featuring exemplary service. Addresses and resolves member complaints and suggestions, in such areas as general service, athletic programs, employee attitude, maintenance, and cosmetic appearance of the facility. ment. Maintains all necessary employee records, to include performance appraisals, discipline, and complimentary records, payroll and benefit details.. Financial Management Prepares annual operating and Capital budgets and, after approval, manages and controls the operations to attain the desired results. Provides input to all department heads, professional staff, and key personnel. Projecting and developing budgets, capital spending plans, fiscal controls, and operational guidelines. Responsible for the approval of contracts, all accounts payable, all labor cost payouts, and maintains them within the constraints of the budgets and through close coordination with the Board of Directors. Maintains an up-to-date management information system which can be counted on for timely and accurate information for all parts of the Club Communications: Develop's ongoing dialogue and rapport with club members through recognition , communication, the newsletter, and follow through. Assures satisfactory communications between the club members and employees. Coordinates a program for the indoctrination of new members. Keeps immediate superior, or in that individual's absence, the appropriate Director or committee head, informed of all significant, or potentially significant, operating matters and problem areas. Club Management Assumes responsibility for all club administration and community relations. Participates in all short and long-range planning activities of the club. Provides on-going continuity from year to year, and board to board, on all such plans and programs. Consults on policy changes in the operations of each department, suggests changes, and may direct the implementation of change. Provides for the security of the club, it environs and members' belongings. Responsible for the general care, maintenance, and upkeep of the physical plant and facilities, to ensure that appropriate monies are available for said upkeep. Develops appropriate authority to department heads, yet remains responsible for all operations of the club, making those changes deemed necessary for the club's successful operation. Attends meetings of the Board of Directors and the various committees to which he is designed an ex-officio member. Arranges for proper minutes to be maintained for all Board and committee meetings.
