Daily Duties at Georgia Ports Authority:
Scheduling 180-200 truck, crane, RTG and top lift operators to transport incoming and outgoing containers via the port on schedule Planning space sheets and timing of stack configuration to facilitate efficient movement of containers according to trucking, shipping and rail schedules Coordinating internally with IT, Control Center, stevedores, port police, etc. Coordinating externally with Rail Link switching company, CSX railroads, Maersk, Hanjin, et.al steamship lines Safety meeting planning and conducting with direct reports and others Handling immediate and process requirements of accidents on port with respect to police reports, statements, disposition of paperwork and consequences Termination and disciplinary conferences with employees as needed regarding rule infractions and work professionalism
