Daily Duties at Ports America:

Assist in daily shipping operations to ensure freight is loaded correctly to reach cube and stay with in weight requirements. Plan, schedule, and supervise day to day operations to meet production requirements, Create, maintain, and improve business relationships with multiple labor unions, steamship lines, and Port Authority management domestically and globally. Assist in special projects such as inventory replenishment ensuring accuracy and efficient movement of freight in a timely manner. Assign production responsibilities, work plans and schedule requirements to department leads and coordinators to ensure that all jobs are completed Provides input for the development of the business units strategic plans to ensure that cost, productivity, quality objectives/expectations and operational goals are met throughout the department Monitor and communicate daily with our 3PL provider with regard to process control, system issues, and freight open label completion. Promote, encourage and lead employees towards a continuous improvement culture Maintain positive employee relations by providing an inclusive work environment
