Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities • monitor and evaluate staff performance • oversee payroll • implement and monitor office policies and procedures • manage insurance contracts and ensure compliance with contracts • responsible for facility cleaning, hygiene, safety and maintenance • control removal of medical waste in compliance with regulatory requirements • ensure compliance with current healthcare regulations, medical laws and ethics • liaise with vendors regarding equipment and supplies • ensure patient records are current and accurate • supervise patient scheduling • oversee registration of patients • supervise medical coding, medical billing and banking • provide education material to patients • communicate with patients regarding inquiries and complaints ensure patient satisfaction • Provided excellent customer service in a medical institution Referral Coordinator Responsibilities: • Receive and process referrals based on standard procedures and policies of the healthcare service • Schedule patient appointments with specialists and remind patients of the appointments • Maintain liaison with insurance companies in order to ensure that all referral related activities are taken care of • Maintain records of completed as well as in-process referrals •Performed screening on all per-authorization requests. •Referred cases as needed for review to per-authorization nurses. •Monitored voice mail on a regular basis and processed telephone per-authorization requests. •Maintained appointment logs and confirmed appointment times with patients. •Maintained and updated payer authorizations in clinic database. •Collated all important patient information from referring physician offices. •Tabulated new referral patient demographics on a regular basis. •Created and distributed charts for new patient appointment schedules. •Resolved referring office scheduling issues in coordination with appropriate supervisor
