Daily Duties at United Airlines:
Created, led and managed vendor management and sourcing strategies for United Airlines Information Services Division (IT). Accountable for maximizing United’s competitive advantage in the marketplace by creating, defining and implementing sourcing strategies and vendor management solutions for application development to deliver higher ROI, cost savings and quality. • Work with CIO and IT leadership team to provided change management to transform ISD from tactical procurement to global strategic sourcing models by leveraging United’s off shore application development joint venture (Skytech). • Guide internal project teams to successfully leverage onshore and off shore vendor capabilities including playbook for when to use Skytech vs. other Indian based suppliers • Created and managed a centralized IT vendor management organization accountable for vendor and relationship management, performance management and financial management. • Led UAL internal project managers, directors and executive management to balance internal multi-business priorities and demands against vendor capabilities. • Spearhead vendor consolidation initiatives • Reported and tracked vendor metrics, SLA’s and ISD balanced scorecards. • Negotiated complex contracts and large multi-million dollar deals.
