Daily Duties at Academia Plus:

Designed and co-founded a non-profit organization through the modeling of a self-sufficient platform which links together those who need tutors and those who need schools, in a vision of solving economic and developmental issues. • Served as the chief development officer to secure an effective fund development program through the planning and design of an innovative business model which allows the foundation to raise its own money without needing investors. • Assured the filing of all legal and regulatory documents and monitored compliance with relevant laws and regulations to start the NGO’s activities and hiring process. • Monitored service quality through development and implementation of standards and controls, systems and procedures, and regular individual assessments and organizational evaluation. • Helped the Board determine Academia Plus’s values, mission, vision, and short- and long-term goals and design the business process operational work-flow chart. • Facilitated the integration of Academia Plus into the fabric of the community by using effective marketing and communications activities such as integrating universities clubs, organizing events to create awareness and working on solving two major community issues (lack of funds to school refugee children and limited access to tutoring services). • Initiated, developed, and maintained cooperative relationships with key constituencies (architects, lawyers, schools, universities, and refugee base camps people in charge).

What they like about Academia Plus:

A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
