Daily Duties at Railpower Locomotives / Hybrid Technology:
Led the Systems Engineering group, primary interface with the customer on engineering issues. As the Manager of Systems Engineering, I was directly involved with the customer early in the proposal process and early once the contract was signed. Assessment of the customer’s specification vs. the standard product, issued compliance / Non Compliance report in the proposal process. Worked with customer to identify the “nice to have” features vs. the required features of the locomotive. Report issued identifying what element of the spec were hard requirements and which items would be accepted non-compliance items. This information was then disseminated to the organization and to one of my Lead System engineers to finalize the specification and identify risk areas and validation plans required for areas of change.
