Daily Duties at Metropolitan Trucking:
1. Supervise 325 drivers and 7 driver managers on a daily basis, and to motivate them and encourage teamwork to see that all deadlines are achieved. 2. Conduct training for current employees and new hires to the company, and ensure all meet the requirements set forth by the company. 3. Manage equipment assignments on a day to day basis along with ensuring discipline, safety all inspections and accident investigations, as well as audits for DOT compliance and disciplinary actions when necessary 4. Dispatch/CSR- Managing satellite computer dispatch systems, maintaining customer relations, and work independently at outside locations. Dispatching and supervising drivers on loads by relaying trip information through the AS400 computer system, satellite, face to face communication, and phone conversation. 5. Planned JIT/ High Value Loads, determine balance, capacity, and demand loads and trucks, assign loads to trucks, manage drivers by assuring safe legal, and on-time delivery of freight. Plan splits and swaps of loads to get drivers home, legal hours of service and customer satisfaction. Work directly with Sales Managers on customer needs and requirements. 6. Report daily/weekly to Senior Management and Department heads in regards to the operation.
