INTERNAL AUDIT • Directed and executed risk-based and full-scope internal audit programs for a regional community bank holding company. • Executed the Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 internal control framework documentation, testing and reporting. • Reported audit results to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. • Coordinated year-end audit and examination assistance with the company’s independent registered accounting firm and the federal and state banking regulators. • Performed independent validation of merger, acquisition and divestiture financial statement and subsidiary application results. • Investigated fraud and irregularities communicated via Whistle-Blower and other mediums. • Performed quality control reviews and internal audits of secondary market mortgage operations. SARBANES-OXLEY, SECTION 404 • Developed the internal control documentation library for a publicly traded company that included entity, financial, operational, and compliance key and supporting internal control testing matrices, internal control process narratives, test reporting and deficiency remediation. • Performed testing of key and supporting internal controls and reported results to executive management and the audit committee. • Performed a decision-tree analysis to support management’s classifications of internal control testing exceptions as material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, or deficiencies. • Performed management interviews and process reviews of entity and operational internal controls, revised internal control documentation, and planned, scheduled and performed testing, as deemed necessary.
