Daily Duties at Coltene/Whaledent Inc:
A manufacturer of medical devices for the dental industry. . R&D product design / development in the medical device industry. Experience with designing and developing medical device products for high-volume manufacturing methods such as injection molding, automated assembly and packaging processes. Experience with packaging and package development for disposable medical devices. Experience with assessing material properties (PP, PE, elastomers). Tolerances study, evaluation and design implications for quality control and high-volume manufacturing processes. CAD/CAE. Experience. Careful attention to detail to ensure accurate and precise execution of work tasks and procedures. Work independently with minimal supervisor input, communicate and discuss technical issues and significant findings of evaluations performed. Documentation in a regulated environment. Supervised up to six engineers and draftsmen and coordinated production logistics. Prepared engineering drawings, documents and quality reports in line with ISO 9001 standards. Coordinated UL, CSA and VDE product approval processes.
