Daily Duties at So Si, International:
I recruited and trained 10 local Iraqis to provide information to the brigade staff in a manner that would not be obvious to other Iraqis they lived among. These Iraqi advisors would provide answers to questions from myself and, the brigade staff. The advisors submitted weekly reports on the general situation from the Iraqi advisors perspective on beliefs, attitudes and, general feelings on the Iraqi street. This information was used by the command staff to better tailor both combat and non-combat operations within Salah ah-Din Province. Other information gained from the Iraqi advisors helped gain an understanding of social, religious, political, economic realities and, tribal issues within the brigade’s Area of Operations as well as real-time information on insurgent activities within the neighborhoods where the advisors lived. Advised the Iraqi General Director of the Joint Provincial Coordination Center in Tikrit for Salah ah-Din Province in understanding the Brigade Commander’s intent, enabling him to better support the commander’s efforts.
