Daily Duties at Ameri Co Group Inc:
Import Specialist at a private menswear company. This company was made up of six subsidiaries, averaging an estimation of 100 incoming shipments a month. My responsibilities included but were not limited to tracking shipments, interpreting Customs documentation, checking for compliance of U.S. Customs laws, confirming Trucker delivery orders, verifying N7501’s, and reviewing shipping documentations. During this time I worked in conjunction with freight forwarders, brokers & banks in order to receive shipments into the US. • Conducted audits on monthly shipments • Maintained communication balance between freight forwarder, broker and banking personnel. • Monitored shipment movement to ensure accuracy • Provided up-to-date information to necessary parties regarding shipment availability or issues (US customs exam holds, delays, etc.) • Managed T/T, LC, and wire payments to vendor and bank • Reviewed and distributed customs documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, sending out original documentation Visa's / Bill of Lading's, Country of Origins, arrival notices, LC documentation, and confirming HTSUS codes. • Updated and maintained SAP operating systems, along with divisional excel database
