Daily Duties at Global Studies Group/Perini International:

My primary duty was to act as liaison for Perini to the Department of State Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Overseas Building Office, Facilities Management, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Defense, and Government of Iraq Ministries of Interior (MOI) Director of IZ Security and Ministries of Defense (MOD) on Force Protection procedures and issues, International Zone (IZ) access policies and procedures to support Perini construction sites in the IZ. The reason I liaised with these entities is to insure the continual flow of construction material and personnel from outside and inside of Iraq, and to Department of State construction sites located inside of the IZ. Entrance into the IZ and the US Embassy compound required coordination will all of the entities and organizations listed above because of the multiple layers of security, each controlled by a multiple entities of both the US and Iraq governments each having separate and unique procedures. I developed, prepared, authored, implemented and presented to the DOS RSO a Security Plan that explained how we would satisfy the security requirements established by the DOS Diplomatic Security Office would be met, as well as a Communications Plan for company personnel, an Asset Protection /Loss Prevention plan for company assets and personnel. Due to the increasingly hazardous nature of working in Iraq at that time of the war, I prepared and implemented an initial Camp Defense Plan and SOPs and made changes to the plans to adjust to the changing security environment. To improve overall camp and site security I developed an IP Physical Protection System that utilized the existing IT network to integrate perimeter lighting, cameras and video recording devices, enclosures and, access control measures. Though not a duty or, in my job description, I assumed the functions of camp IT manager when the actual IT manager left the project and the decision was made not to replace him.
