Daily Duties at Hill Phoenix:
Directs and manages 16 departments across 2 plant facilities (150-200 direct labor associates) via 7 subordinate salaried supervisors. Managed all activities concerned with production of company’s sub-assembly products utilizing knowledge of product technology, production methods, procedures/capabilities of machines, equipment and employees. Conferred with staff personnel (peers) to establish production standards and develop cost controls; strategically planned the production and delivery of all types, quantities, and lead times of customer orders. Directed production activities and established production priorities. Coordinated and expedited activities as they relate to manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, staffing in a cross-sectional environment, employee relations and other related functions: safety, environmental compliance and process engineering. Developed and implemented operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems. Accountable for driving solutions to problems and implementing corrective actions to ensure business metrics of cost, quality, delivery, finished goods inventory turns and safety performance. Lead continuous improvement initiatives through LEAN Enterprise and Six Sigma methodologies. Created and implemented plans to achieve product related goals and objectives. Generated operations reports relating to production performance (balanced scorecard). Planned, and implemented continuous process improvements and was responsible for continuous methods improvements by resourcing product improvement teams. Consulted with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and accommodate production increases.
