Eds Work Values

Daily Duties at Eds:

Responsible for planning, processing and performance all assigned task in an efficient manner. Worked closely with customers and their upper management to extract requirements and expectations required to design, test, and develop systems which met specified and implied system performance and reliability. Specifically: *Reviewed and repaired legacy code. *Conducted system analysis and development, with limited support from professional staff, keeping systems current with changing technologies. *Analyzed, designed, tested, coordinated, and supervised the development of software systems to form a basis for the solution of information processing problems. *Analyzed system specifications and translated system requirements to task specifications for junior programmers. *Analyzed current programs including performance diagnosed and troubleshoot of problem programs, and designed solutions to problematic programming. *Developed new programs and proofed the program needing change to assure production of a quality product. *Wrote, edited, and debugs new computer programs for assigned projects, including the creation of necessary records and desired output. *Tested new programs to ensure that reliability, quality, logic and syntax were correct, and that program results were accurate; assisted lower-level programmers with programming assignments. *Documented code consistently throughout the development process by listing a description of the program, special instructions, and any changes made in database tables on procedural, modular and database level. *Read, understood, and utilized all part and assembly prints, forms, spreadsheets, bills of material, specification sheets, and technical references. *Utilized tools and equipment involved in performance of essential functions of programming including measuring instruments. *Searched, summarized and kept the team abreast of strategic information from all sources *Maintained client databases *Researched and recommended software tools to management. *Provided assistance to testers and supported personnel as needed to determine system problems. *Reviewed changes in code and the environment that will affect system performance. *Provided recommendations to management concerning issues of programmer productivity and software development management. Performed other related duties incidental to the work described herein in support of the company.
