Daily Duties at Ohio University:

 Studied the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis through the development of several cell-based in vitro assays.  Established and standardized in vitro disease models mimicking the inflammatory conditions in Alzheimer’s disease and gram-negative bacterial infections for screening of in-house novel compounds.  Collaborated with chemists at Ohio University and scientists at Interthyr Corporation to synthesize in-house novel compounds, and to screen them for toxicity and efficacy in several disease models, respectively.  Presented results at regional and national conferences via posters and talks.  Trained undergraduate and graduate students on a variety of laboratory techniques.
