• Surface immobilized organometallic catalyst for electrocatalytic H2 production o Developed catalyst free route to attach electrocatalyst onto glassy carbon surface o Characterized and evaluated the electrocatalytic activity of the hybrid system Highlighted in C&N news in 2013 and became an ACS Editor’s choice article in 2014 • Water soluble electrocatalysts for H2 production and oxidation o Designed and characterized novel water soluble nickel-bis(diphosphine) electrocatalysts o Kinetic and mechanistic evaluation using cyclic voltammetry and NMR

• Standard air-free synthesis techniques: Schlenk line and glove box techniques for chemical synthesis, • Spectroscopic characterization: UV-vis-NIR, FT-IR, EPR, spectroelectrochemistry, NMR (Multi-nuclear, multi-dimensional and VT NMR), XPS, grazing angle reflectance IR, ToF-SIMS (time-of flight secondary ion spectrometry), • Molecular weight measurement by GC-MS, LC-MS (via ESI and APCI) and MALDI, • Electrochemistry: Cyclic voltammetry, bulk electrolysis, rotating disk electrolysis, coulometry, • Synthesis of composite and hybrid materials and their modification for catalytic transformation, • Modification of surface properties by chemical reactions and physical adsorption , • XRD, TGA, BET surface area measurements and adsorption studies in gas and vacuum for MOFs characterization
