Daily Duties at University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine, Department Of Surgery Of Urology, :
Built the Malkowicz Research Laboratory from the ground up, leading the preparation of all grant proposals, scientific manuscripts, IACUC, IRB, and Safety documents; assumed responsibility for over 90% of all experimental research while engaging in the design and coordination of all research strategy and molecular tools for all studies. Pioneered the recreation of a laboratory and associated tool set to lead the research into a gene of unknown function; developed Adeno- and Lenti-virus for transduction of TERE1 and TBL2 cDNAs and MiRNAs to modulate gene expression, and characterize cellular phenotypes in bladder and prostate cancer cell lines. Evaluate the role of loss of expression of the TERE1 protein in progression of urological cancers and characterize interacting proteins: TBL2, and APOE. Provided academic leadership and mentoring to technicians, laboratory assistants, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows.
