Daily Duties at Corinthian Colleges, Inc.:

Government Relations Lobbied Members of Congress and their staff, educating them on proprietary education, nontraditional make-up of student body, company profile, and challenges facing 21st century Higher Education Supported legislative policy goals by attending Capitol Hill meetings, hearings, and lobbying legislative staff on policy affecting the company and for-profit sector Conducted political and opposition research, and produced collateral material in support of and consistent with corporate policy objectives Coordinated dozens of policymaker follow-up sessions. These sessions resulted in generating interest and collaborative projects between a lawmaker and the local CCi campus Met with state and local policymakers in conjunction with campus leadership as needed Advocacy Designed and implemented a grassroots strategy to establish local management teams as a resource for federal, state and locally elected policymakers Planned and executed over 100 legislator campus visits and tours in 26 states as one component of a multi-year effort, 50 visits conducted at state level Developed several grassroots initiatives including an employer outreach campaign and employee grassroots database initiative Primary liaison to allied trade associations regarding industry-wide advocacy initiatives Secured prominent speakers for graduation ceremonies and other notable events, including education town halls and forums at campuses across the country Strategic Communications Influenced the for-profit education debate by mobilizing a diverse range of company executives for ongoing, personal participation in state and local coalitions Trained campus leaders to become strong spokespeople and advocates in their local community Maintained corporate database of influential contacts and campus leadership Assisted in operation of CCi PAC, including donor identification and outreach
