Daily Duties at Harperrand :
Instruct the following classes- anatomy, terminology, pathology, pharmacology ,health communication, health ethics and laws, Clinical and lab classes(LEAD INSTRUCTOR) Instruct Administrative skills like- Creating the business letter,Complete knowledge and understanding of HIPAA,Creating, correcting, and updating a medical record,Creating a filing system for patient records,Handling emergency calls,Retrieving messages from an answering service, Creating an office schedule and scheduling appointments,Creating a reception area appropriate for children, elderly patients, and differently abled patients,Developing a patient education plan ,Completing the CMS-1500 claim form,Medical Billing & Coding using updated versions of specific text book, Billing using a superbill (encounter form). Organizing a bookkeeping system/ Manual peg board applications,Making a bank deposit,Reconciling a bank statement Instructions for Clinical procedures- Aseptic hand washing technique, Using the autoclave to sterilize surgical instruments and supplies,Applying universal precautions and OSHA regulations,CLIA waived testing for POL settings, Assisting the physician with minor surgical procedure,Responding to medical emergencies and basic first aid measures, Conducting a patient interview and obtaining a medical history, Writing progress notes in the medical record,Measuring vital signs of infants, children, and adults,Assisting the physician with basic and specialized exam,Performing vision screening,Teaching a patient to properly use a cane, walker, or crutches,Administration injected medications, including intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular routes,Blood collection techniques, including venipuncture (phlebotomy) and capillary puncture, Chain of custody policies and procedures in regards to specimen handling, Processing and handling various specimens,Disposing of biohazardous waste,electrocardiogram Certify students for BLS and CPR Design and implement daily lesson plans to meet core course objectives. Create course plans and assist with selection of books for courses. Assist with student retention. Grade advising and upgrades. Participate in Faculty meetings and workshops.
