Daily Duties at Engineering Consulting Services Llc:
As a technician I perform bearing capacity test on the soil, checking the soil's ability to support the building's foundation placement, as detailed in the civil engineer's blueprints. I also use special equipment to measure the compaction percentage of the soil on site, making sure that it is sufficiently compacted enough to support the weight of the roadway or parking lot being built above it as per the civil engineer's blueprints. Additional duties include inspecting the steel reinforcement bars for concrete, making sure that the bars are placed as specified in the structural engineer's blueprints. I also collect samples of concrete arriving on site to test temperature, consistency, and air content, making sure that the arriving concrete is the right mix as specified by the structural engineer's blueprints. I use ETHEL PC(ECS data-entry program) to produce daily progress reports of the site updates, containing the results of the compaction percentage tests, bearing capacity tests, and concrete test, along with usage, amount and location on site where concrete was poured, as well as scanned blueprints with detailed notes and pictures of site activity.
