Daily Duties at Joseph Consulting:

• Systems and Network Administrator for small construction consulting business with multiple locations in the Greater New Orleans Area and one sales office in Houston; local telecom service provider is used to establish site-to-site VPNs allowing all locations to connect and share information. Managed all external vendor activities, which included the review of vendor proposals and new technology implementations. • Provided IT and network communications support services for a historical University in New Orleans; services included LAN/WAN network planning, design, and evaluation. • Worked with all customer accounts to determine root cause analysis of network, systems and software related issues and problems. • Developed and presented telecommunications, managed network services, managed hosting, managed network security, collocation and cloud computing services solutions for existing and prospective businesses. • Researched and tested learned security methodologies, e.g., workstation and server hardening. • Implemented security best practices as they were feasible and appropriate. • Managed small and large-scale network and information technology projects aimed at improving and establishing operational standards within the customer’s technology environment.. • Provided hands-on project management which ensured that all project were completed on-time and within the customer’s budget. • Identified and implemented work around solutions to minimize network and application downtime. • Worked with external vendors to ensure systems and applications performed within agreed upon SLAs. • Worked with external vendors to ensure network implementation projects were completed in timely manner. • Monitored the implementation of network and systems software updates to ensure proper hardening against network and systems attacks. • Focal point for identifying and resolving hardware, software, and configuration issues on LAN/WAN systems. • Sold and supported telecommunications and IT solutions; solutions included network access and bandwidth, cloud services, managed services, security appliances, and video security apparatus.
