Daily Duties at Unity Hospital (Allina):
I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of specialty areas during my 8 years at Unity. As a registered nurse I have worked with patients in orthopedics in the joint replacement center, medical-surgical patients and bariatric surgical patients. During this time I spent time educating patients on normal post-surgical expectations, nutritional guidelines, and exercise routines. In addition, I have also had the opportunity to work in the birth center taking care of post-partum patients and newborns in the level 1 and level 2 nurseries. I act as a baby nurse during birth and then transition to primary nurse for the family as they transition into parenthood and new expectations at home.
