Daily Duties at General Electric:
Test, troubleshoot and repair generator fields and stators. Interact with the commercial team, engineering department, project managers and the customers to create a customary work scope for the jobs. Work with the requisition engineers to order parts for the jobs. Contact vendors and order special parts if needed. Coordinate the transportation of the equipment to be repaired from the customer site to the shop. Create inspection and final reports for the customer. Report any unexpected problems found during the execution of a job to engineering and discuss any possible solutions with them. Get the resources needed to perform special repairs. Greet customers, show them their jobs and answer any questions they may have. Make sure the jobs are completed according to the schedule, explain any delays to the customer. Do the template for each job on SAP. Make sure the calculated hours for every job, match the hours worked. Manage a group of 25 unionized hourly employees. Assign daily tasks to the hourly employees. Provide technical support top the hourly employees. Control the time worked by the hourly employees (using Kronos). Promote a safe work environment using the take five meeting at the beginning of each shift. Evaluate the performance of each hourly employee after each job is completed. Enforce the code of conduct, discipline employees if necessary. Make sure the hourly employees are following the right procedures and work instructions.
