Daily Duties at Pearson:

• Financial Systems-Global Head of Financial Systems with management responsibility for reporting systems applications(including all Hyperion applications), data management and systems strategy  Instituted governance and project management for Hyperion applications to enable greater systems stability  Initiated and led transformational project that standardized financial data, governance structure, and established a global chart of accounts. Delivered requirement for enterprise-wide reporting application  Lead global development and implementation for unified management reporting and planning platform (across 60 ERPs) enabling transformation of business performance management • Controllership—Corporate Controller Americas consolidated and restructured controllers functions to form the Corporate Controller’s Group; Centralized all financial and accounting functions into one highly efficient “shared services” entity with coverage/scope that covered more than 60% of Pearson’s $10 billion educational service and publishing company. Direct management responsibility for 150+ accounting and finance professionals across five locations operating on multiple ERPs. • Finance transformation: helped initiate and develop global finance transformation project resulting in $30 million of annualized savings; specifically led financial transformation of global record to report cycle and development of new financial reporting platform; led successful outsourcing of accounting functions (cost, fixed assets, etc.) that reduced accounting staff by 30+ • Compliance: successfully led initial SOX 404 implementation for Pearson Americas; established governance and strategy for use of GRC software; initiated systematic review of 404 controls to reduce effort and improve effective control • Acquisitions: Led activities to support acquisitions including development of global integration playbook, led all acquisition accounting including intangible valuations and delivered Complex carve out audits which enabled sale of more than $500 million of businesses; initiated and developed post acquisition review process adopted by the Pearson plc board • FP&A: led financial budgeting for all US corporate departments with budgets in excess of $150 million; developed and led monthly operating review process for all US based businesses
