Daily Duties at Transport For London:

With previous payments industry experience at American Express, I was recruited to support the launch of contactless payments on the London rail network – the biggest improvement to the network in 20 years – which included building awareness, education and adoption of this new payment method with future aims to replace paper tickets and the Oyster Card. Contactless campaign results: • More than 600 London Underground, Overground and DLR stations saw contactless transactions on launch day and in first two days, more than 128,000 taps had been made • Buses, which had been trialling the contactless payment method since December 2012, saw an uplift of 8% on the day-of the rail launch and 10% on the day after • Two days after the launch, contactless payments made up 3% of total pay as you go journeys and two weeks later made up 6% - a rate not expected until 6-months post-launch. • As of March 2015, 60 million journeys had been made with contactless representing 14% of all journeys on the London rail and bus network Campaign and contactless launch management: • Engage, collaborate and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships with key focus on agencies, banks, card schemes and issuers, transport modes (buses, London Overground, DLR, the Tube and National Rail) and the integrated project team • Plan and manage ATL and BTL creative development, production and media for pre-launch, launch and post-launch phases of Contactless and Zip campaigns. Channels included Direct Mail and email, Social Media, PPC, F2F, Press, PR, In-store, Radio, Outdoor and Online Display • Project management of 6x 3D animated customer engagement and education videos, incl. script writing, internal approvals, creative direction, managing the production agency and promotion • Management of face to face (F2F) promotional activity at 150 high-footfall stations for a 3-week period pre and post launch to engage and educate customers • End to end management of customer and staff engagement material, incl. copy and creative development, print and distribution; maintaining brand consistency and accuracy internally and externally through positioning, messaging, language and other creative elements • End to end management of Zip 11-5 and 16+ acquisition and retention campaign, incl. channel development; channel implementation; budget management; briefing of agencies, management and business stakeholders

What they like about Transport For London:

A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
