Daily Duties at Schlumberger (Geoservices):
• Comprehensive combination of ACC results (HRDM, XRD, XRF, TOC) together with MWD/LWD results and the Gas results for effective and efficient Formation Evaluation and producing the different logs as per the client requirement. • Using the gas results to produce distinctive Star Plots that help in Fluid Facie Characterization. • Collection of samples from the specified depths during drilling, lithological description, visual/microscope inspection of samples for oil show, cementing materials, fossils and mineral accessories. • Work together with the Wellsite Geologist to ensure that the core are retrieved in the right order, describe the various cores (rock type, percentages, fluorescence etc) and compile results for subsequent use. • Utilize the XRD, XRF, HRDM and TOC results to support Geo-Steering especially while drilling horizontally and also to ensure the bit remain within the target zone of interest.
