Daily Duties at Ahold Usa:

• Manage a staff of financial analysts and accountants • Create, prepare, and submit all budgets and forecasts (greater than $400m/year) • Create and present executive presentations on budgets, forecasts, contract proposals and variances • Lead period close activities in IT which includes over 250 contracts, account reconciliations, and period analysis • Work with the CIO as well as the Finance Executives to ensure that period and yearly targets are established, understood, and met • External vendor communication to ensure that they understand our expectations from a financial perspective and work internally to ensure that all targets are met • Manage the IT Fixed Assets and associated p&l/balance sheet impacts • Work globally to ensure that the US and the European IT teams are consistent in approach, methodology and GAAP interpretation • Point of contact for IT questions from internal and external auditors • IT global point of contact for potential accounting changes and the potential impacts • Prepare analysis and sit at the negotiation table with our biggest vendors to review Request for Proposals (RFPs) and determining the potential financial impacts • Conducted RFPs (Request for Proposals) and completed business case and selection analysis to select the best possible vendors and reviewed and approved contract terms • Work on various teams to ensure that appropriate controls are in place to mitigate risk as much as possible
