Daily Duties at Seaboard Corporation:

As the Managing Director, I had the power and responsibility to make decisions and oversee Seaboard West Africa, Ltd. Management consisted of the interlocking functions of creating corporate policy and organizing, planning, controlling, and directing an organization's resources in order to achieve the objectives of the Seaboard policies. Responsibilities included: Leadership - to ensure that all business goals are reached; including guiding and monitoring the overall workflow of the organization from a high-level perspective. * work with other top-tier executives to oversee the operations of the company to reduce the annual NOL of $2.5 Million USD * Provide insight and solutions to senior management to achieve process best practices in each reporting unit. * Participate in business development including writing business plans, modeling financials and manage new business setup/integration post acquisition. * Effectively communicate with corporate office * Monitor business drivers and maintain positive relationships with front office personnel while complying with process, Sarbox and other ongoing initiatives. * Develop and adhere to Seaboard Trading Group (STG) managing director and accounting policies and procedures. * Support and/or execute STG President & local shareholders’ initiatives * Participate in Group strategic planning processes What I did related to the position: Provided leadership: - Reduced Seaboard West Africa, Ltd. annual net operating losses of $2.5 USD million - Ensured that all business goals were reached; including guiding and monitoring the overall workflow of the organization from a high-level perspective. - work with other top-tier executives to oversee the operations of the company - Provide insight and solutions to senior management to achieve process best practices in each reporting unit. - Establish new business contacts, interact with clients, and recruit employees. - Developed strategic marketing and sales plans to boost profits and efficiency. - Coordinated the efforts of various departments, such as legal, finance, marketing, and sales, to meet company goals. - Oversaw other managers or department heads, and report to top executives and boards of directors - Reviewed and signed off on financial statements that are in accordance with USGAAP - Development and maintenance of all aspects of internal control environment (credit, disbursements, receipts, etc.). - Provide Sarbanes Oxley quarterly certification for the Seaboard Overseas Limited Group - Monitor tax efficiency initiatives; interface with tax professionals and councilors - Review and issue management monthly, quarterly and annual reports to Shareholders
