Daily Duties at Marine Corps Installations East:

•Supervise a team of IT professionals in the design, engineering, implementation, and management of infrastructure and multiple enclaves. •Provide technical support to all MCI EAST bases, posts and stations (approximately 70,000 end users). • Ensure system/network reliability and connectivity via real-time diagnostics/troubleshooting and Tier 3 support. •Manage core projects including application services and network upgrades/modifications (firewall, routers and servers) including capacity planning, resource management, and lifecycle management. •Provide recommendations for new technologies and upgrades, and present to senior decision makers. •Change the paradigm of IT from a cost center to a value-added group, by linking technology solutions to cost efficiencies, system reliability, productivity, and leaner operations. •Ensure network compliance with service level agreements, as well as appropriate acquisitions, implementation, certifications, and accreditations. • Develop and implemented disaster recovery and continuity plans. •Facilitate cross-functional teams to build consensus, support for shared goals and enhance system reliability. •Use a critical path project management methodology to keep all stakeholders focused and on-target at all times. •Develop long-term plans and implementations covering data center/systems hosting.
