• Prepared a 5-year run (1923-1928) of historical medical health bulletins for the Epson flatbed & open book scanning; • Optimized scanned images using Adobe Photoshop using digital imaging standards • Processed bulletins for optical character recognition (OCR) using ABBY FineReader • Performed Quality Control Checks on a Regular Basis on Digitalized Images • Assigned authoritative metadata to bulletins & images using multiple vocabularies: PHIN, Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH), Thesaurus of Graphic Names (TGN), & local subject headings • Performed background research relating to personal & corporate names, archaic medical & chemical terms, as well as brand names & products • Familiarity with medical terminology • Experience using Digital Repository Management System (CONTENTdm)
