Daily Duties at Foreland Refining Corp: Green Tech Refining :
• Research and development to produce ULSD fuels • Invented more economical method than traditional method to purify and remove 98%+ solid and tar from used locomotive oil • Developed and built a small glass pilot units for waste oil purification unit capable of purifying 10-20 liters used oil per day • Desulfurized different types of purified used oil (Jiffy Lube waste oil, Utah collective truck waste oil and private car used oil) from between 3,000 to 20,000 ppm to less than 2,000 ppm • Desulfurized different types of fuel to less than 15 ppm including Utah Valley dyed diesel (6,500-9,000 ppm), Utah Valley un-dyed diesel (4,000-6,000 ppm), BP-6 containment diesel (50-100 ppm) • Tasked with responsibility to purchase all chemicals and lab equipment requiring understanding of each chemical’s MSDS and lab safety regulation including state laws for proper storage, air ventilation and emergency plan • Assisted in lab scale unit operation design that included reactor, distillation column, pump and condensation
