Daily Duties at Arizona State University:
1, semiconductor device fabrication and characterization: characterized nanowire transistors using probe station and parameter analyzer; fabricated nanowire transistors through photolithography, thin film deposition (PVD/CVD), wet/dry etching and annealing; designed photo masks using AutoCAD; characterized nanowires and thin sheets using AFM, SEM, Photoluminescence and Raman Spectroscopy; characterized on-chip inductors using VNA; characterized nano-particles using bright/dark field microscope and confocal microscope; modeled fully depleted and partially depleted SOI MOSFET device using SILVACO; calculated bandgap of bulk materials using MATLAB. 2, automatic laser scanning system development for highly sensitive in-plane strain mapping, sponsored by Intel: assembled and optimized an optical setup to achieve accurate strain sensing based on diffraction measurement; implemented a motion control and data acquisition system for ultrahigh sensitivity strain sensing to characterize microelectronic chips using LabVIEW; developed data processing program using MATLAB; modeled diffraction pattern dependency on grating wavelength or laser spot size using MATLAB.
What they like about Arizona State University:
The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
