Daily Duties at Fed Ex Ground:

• Worked with Senior Leaders to drive process improvement and change initiatives • Supervised employees including: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems • Supervised and assisted with daily operations, ensured accuracy of shipments, process supporting documentation, received and routed incoming material, ensured inventory transactions were accurately logged • Oversaw a continuing program of training and cross training of employees, counseled and trained employees as necessary to improve work performance, and recommended transfer or dismissal for unqualified or unproductive employees • Developed and monitored production plans, inventories, and schedules to ensure excellent process performance and delivery quality • Resolved complex, technical and management issues related to manning, logistics, and budget, and identified alternative methods to achieve goals when necessary • Reviewed performance metrics on a regular basis, identifying opportunities for improvement • Ensured that materials were shipped in the most timely and efficient manner according to internal documented processes, including planning transportation, selecting mode of transportation, and tracking the shipment through the Supply Chain while targeting cost reduction, freight savings, and contractual requirements • Analyzed transportation costs and trends, update performance metrics, and prepare routine reports identifying actions for continued improvement • Applied logistic management principles to ensure all operational goals were achieved • Resolved complex, technical and management issues related to manning, logistics, and budget, and identified alternative methods to achieve goals when necessary • Integrated separate functions of supply, maintenance, procurement and quality assurance into logistics activities
