Daily Duties at St. Petersburg General Hospital :

o Filled in at bench for routine, stat, and urgent testing on a daily basis for the Blood Bank, and as needed basis for the Chemistry and Hematology departments. o Performed Blood Bank procedures, quality control, and maintenance requirements for the instruments, refrigerators, reagents, and supplies. o Administration skills applied in leadership techniques, strategic planning, conflict resolution, interpersonal communication, negotiation, resource allocation, coordination, production, and distribution process. o Participated in supply chain management for purchasing of reagents, overhead supplies, and blood bank instrumentation. o Presented Blood Bank Department related budget information to prepare monthly, quarterly, yearly, and 5-year budgets with cost-effective analysis for purchasing and accounts payable. o Maintain relations with blood service centers and vendors. o Maintained quality performance of instruments, calibration and quality control, and inventory for teaching and training supplies. o Managed CAP reports and documentations, wrote procedures and worked with Meditech systems to create programs suitable to meet ISBT requirements. o Daily supervised 2 techs in Blood Bank, 2 Blood Bank trainee, 2 phlebotomists, early morning staff of about 3 to 5 additional techs and 6 phlebotomists.
