Daily Duties at Orange Park Medical Center:

Filled in at bench for routine, stat, and urgent testing on a daily basis. Performed, interpreted, and reported tests profiles related to Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Serology, and Specimen receiving and processing. Supervised 2 techs and 2 phlebotomists on daily basis for the night shift and early morning staff of about 3 additional techs and 6 phlebotomists. o Reviewed daily and monthly work and statistics records for completeness, obvious errors, and for the quality assurance. o Maintained quality performance of instrument, quality control/calibration, inventory for blood bank and reagents. o Managed nightshifts operation and maintained turnaround time. o Improved productivity by implementing policies and procedures based on identifying process of root cause analysis. o Continuously monitored turned around time, analyzed labeling errors and errors related to workload tracker, personnel, technology, and auto-verification to improve turnaround time and Blood Bank Procedures and Policies. o Provided guidance and in-service related to blood band topics such as Massive Transfusion, protocols for the Trauma Center, Sickle Cell protocol for the transfusion therapy, and guidelines to comply Rules and Regulations of CAP, AABB, and AHCA. o Prepared technical section of Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology for the CAP inspection, accreditation, and licensing process. o Utilized transformational leadership approach with touch of servant and participatory leadership style to lead students, coworkers, and subordinates through motivation and empowerment
