Daily Duties at Emory Johns Creek Hospital (Formally Emory Dunwoody Hospital):
Worked in the process of closing Emory Dunwoody Medical Center and worked with opening Emory Johns Creek Hospital Pharmacy. Closing of Emory Dunwoody included count down of all medications. Retrieving medications from McKesson Accudose machines and being on call as sole night hospital pharmacist. Opening of Emory Johns Creek Hospital included setting up Accudose machines on nursing units. Working with vendors in understanding how equipment worked on all the floors. Established access to nursing and respiratory therapist so they could retrieve medications from Accudose machines and participated in giving seminars on use of Accudose machines. Night shift pharmacist duties included rounding on floors with nursing staff, physicians and patients. Processing medication orders for patients recommending best drug therapies for patients (i.e. renally impaired and neonatal populations). Populations worked with included bariatric, pediatric, oncology and neonatology patients. Responsibilities also including training pharmacy staff and worked with pharmacy management in establishing polices and procedures specific to drug delivering for night shift pharmacist and nursing.
