Daily Duties at Dc Comics:
From 1993 to 1995, as an editor in the DC Universe group, I directly supervised the story development, art creation, lettering, and coloring for two to three monthly titles, while assisting in those duties on two to three additional titles. From 1995 to 1997, as a member of the Special Projects editorial group, I worked on the art direction and editorial development for DC’s line of trading cards. I also served as the primary liaison and co-developer for the DC Comics edition of Fleer’s OverPower trading card game. From 1997 to 1999, I was part of the editorial staff for Collected Editions, splitting with one other editor the duties of editorial development, budgeting, and design and production oversight on over fifty titles a year. As part of my duties, I wrote cover and solicitation copy, proofread content for any text changes or corrections, and aided in the creation of new imprints.
What they like about Dc Comics:
Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.

Climbers who worked at Dc Comics had these interests:
Books | |
---|---|
The Tao of Pooh | When asked "What's my favorite book" by Kirkus for my business card, this was my answer. |
Neverwhere | This book by Neil Gaiman, one of my favorite authors, was a contender for my favorite book. |
Bitter Seeds | The first book in the Milkweed Triptych, Bitter Seeds by Ian Tregellis was another contender for my favorite book. But as it's sort of "the new hotness" in my list of best reads, it was hard to label it my favorite book of all time. |
