Daily Duties at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis:
•Provide quality clinical care to patients suffering from brain and nervous system disorders, inherited and acquired conditions, such as Stroke, Seizures, Dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, brain tumors, encephalitis and meningitis, as well as those who have suffered trauma to the brain or spine. •Proficient with utilizing Neurological assessment tools, such as, NIHSS, Glascow Coma Scale, CIWA, to routinely assess for patient status change and to provide rapid clinical interventions in case of patient decline •Provide quality clinical care to patients with Medical – Surgical disorders and conditions such as, complications resulting from general surgery, heart disease, renal failure and respiratory conditions. •Ensure that the proper diagnostic tests and procedures have been ordered and performed. •Work collaboratively with other professionals of health care team, such as, staff and resource nurses, patient care technicians, cardiologists, urologists, internal medicine, imaging, and transporting, to ensure optimum patient health and progress. •Administration of medications and on-going assessment updates to patient health care record. •Input patient health information and data into hospital’s electronic medical records system. •Support the needs and concerns of family and friends of all Neuro patients.
