Daily Duties at El Paso Community College:
Teach Biology courses and Physical Therapy Health Assistant courses offered at EPCC, as well as, with Molecular Cell Biology labs, Vertebrate Physiology lab and Microbiology labs at UTEP. Some of the courses taught are Microorganisms and Diseases, Pathophysiology, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Neuroscience and General Biology. Implement college core curriculum for all subjects listed and present the fundamental principles of state course requirements. Have been teaching for 11 years with a Full-Time teaching load for 8 years and Part-Time for 3 years. I encourage respect and develop a sense of unity amongst the students, as well as, demonstrating strong leadership skills with principles of being a good role model. Develop and revise course curriculum in line with EPCC requirements, and analyze student’s progress of retention and broaden their perspectives on critical concepts. I have consistently received positive performance evaluations and very high student evaluations every semester for eleven years. I have participated in the POWER STEM Learning Federal Grant program, Teachership Academy I & II, Honors Program, Service Learning Program, Discipline meetings and Development meetings. Interdisciplinary meetings between multiple disciplines to include Biology (5 campuses), Nursing, Physical Therapy Assistant, and Medical Technology Technician. Member of several task force committees for Biology (i.e. development of a new Biology 1406 placement exam). Courses Taught: o General Biology I & II – Science Majors o General Biology II – Science Majors o Introductory Biology - Non-Science Majors; o Human Biology; o Anatomy and Physiology I; o Anatomy and Physiology II; o Microorganisms and Diseases o Neuroscience o Pathophysiology o Functional Anatomy
