Daily Duties at Lockheed Martin:
ME in the Critical Machining Center. Responsible for coordinating all shop activities including CNC Programming, writing work instructions, scheduling production jobs across 14 various CNC Machines, Machine utilization/capacity reviews, the purchase of capital equipment, and providing direct shop floor support for over 60 Production Processes belonging to 4 different Programs. Fixture and Tool Design – Responsible for the design, manufacturing, and implementation of work holding fixtures used in the machining center. CAD Software: Pro Engineer Work Instructions – Created detailed planning documentation for the operation of CNC Machines. CNC Programming – Programmed CNC Mills and Lathes using NX, Esprit, Vericut, and Parametric G-Code manual programming. GD&T/Gage Design – Extensive GD&T knowledge and use. Designed functional gages for inspection. Proposals/Capital/Capacity – Created overall shop utilization/capacity charts for long range and overtime scheduling using LRP estimates from multiple programs. Used this data to successfully justify the purchase of new CNC Machines and other capital equipment. Lean Six Sigma– LM21 Certified Green Belt. Used SPC to justify the reduction of CMM inspections and designed the machine shop layout based on lean practices. Root Cause and Corrective Action – Drove deep into issues to discover root causes and implement meaningful corrective actions. Created and carried out various machining test to improve processes that were prone to defects and demonstrated the success of new methods through simulated production prove out plans so that product was never at risk. Engineering Drawings – Reviewed Product drawings for manufacturability and provided official Production Manufacturing Approval/Signatures for Product and Tooling Drawings.
