Daily Duties at Ibm At Tj Watson Research Center (Lj Gonzer Associates):
Working on leading edge private and government-funded research projects Engage in process integration and oversee the process development through a full service device fabrication lab at IBM Microelectronic Research Lab Semiconductor processing module development • Photolithography: o Mask Aligner - tool calibration, exposure dose control, multi-mask alignment - tool stewardship: training and certification of new users as well as perform routine and more advanced maintenance o Polymeric photoresist process: various types, spin coat, pre-bake, expose, develop, hard-bake • Various methods for metal and dielectric deposition (through synthesis in-situ): Electron beam, Thermal evaporators for metallization and Atomic Layer Deposition tool for dielectric deposition • Tube furnaces: oxidation, long-time annealing • Annealing: Rapid thermal anneal tools • Wet chemistry etching • Dry etching: Xenon Difluoride silicon etcher • Wafer cleaning and wafer surface preparation using wet chemistry • Wafer – wafer and wafer – glass bonding based on SiOx chemistry for 3D product development Metrology performing film thickness measurements and surface defect analysis in a clean room environment Supervises the operation of one nanotech laboratory including the proper maintenance of its resources and provision of supplies in support to the company’s various research and development projects
