Daily Duties at Turbomeca Usa:

* Manager responsible for maintenance, overhauls, repairs and training solutions for the Arriel, Arrius, family of engines, modules, and all function associated with the Department. (When an asset arrives at TMUSA it is on a journey through the overhaul / repair process. The process entails an inspection of the asset to determine condition, and conformity. The documentation associated with the asset (Log Book) is then visually inspected to ensure correct hours / cycles and Federal Aviation Requirements are correct. At this time the Customer needs are determined via the Purchase order. A scope of work to be performed is then written and sent to the customer for approval. When the approval is received the asset is released to the shop and is then: disassembled, cleaned, Inspected and a Technical Report is written on the total condition and the needs of the asset to enable TMUSA to release the asset back to the customer in a manner that is within Manufacturers and Federal Aviation Admiration guidelines. When this is complete the asset is quoted, kitted, assembled, tested, Inspected to ensure all of the above was completed then sent back to the customer. I know when we have been successful if the asset is completed within our structured guidelines for cost, quality and delivery.) * Direct all staff activities in assigned areas, including planning, leading, organizing and directing such functions as: work assignments, performance management and budgets, strategies and internal customer relationships. (To ensure the operation is running smoothly scheduling of assets to be in the right place at the right time is paramount, Bottlenecks in the flow of product do occur, Time standards for individual process are required, and expectations of personnel (performance management / assessments) must be completed all within budgetary constraints. You know when you have been successful when the Turn Around time, Cost and Quality metrics have all been met) * Compile and make presentations to executive staff and others on program elements such as production, Team performance, schedules, quality performance, total WIP (Work in Progress) and improvement initiatives. (Proof to the executive staff that all is well or in some cases all is not well) * Ensure the proper staffing/training of operations positions with qualified and competent employees. Having the right amount of trained personnel is essential to reducing bottlenecks and increasing flow.) The TAT will suffer if an asset is in one place for too long * Management of multiple cells, responsible for the execution of disassembly, cleaning, inspection, assembly and test of turbine engines, modules and isolated parts. ( All of these cells must operate in rhythm to ensure a flow of product ) * Manage the Quality, Cost and Delivery of the engine repair / overhaul process through key metrics, identify trends and events using statistical means ( Again the Metrics to check that the process is healthy) * Responsible for development of Strategic Roadmaps focused on achieving organizational objectives such as TAT (turn around time) and Operating Cost reductions. (To ensure customer satisfaction and company success roadmaps for improvement are implemented to map your accomplishments for completion are formalized) -Builds and develops team approaches to problem solving and continuous improvement concepts within the assigned area.
