Responsible for the entire state and local tax function including compliance, state tax provision, planning, research and audit defense for Company which files income tax returns in almost all states and in numerous localities. Prepared state tax returns, extensions, and estimates; assisted with tax provisions in compliance with FAS 109 and FIN 48; researched foreign and domestic tax matters. Performed nexus studies; drafted audit defense memoranda; corresponded with state taxing authorities. Developed an internal program to calculate state apportionment factors.
