Daily Duties at Sasebo Naval Fleet Activity Base:

Planned, directed and evaluated Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Programs; ensured program compliance with EEO laws and regulations. Interpreted Federal EEO laws, policies and regulations, and developed implemented instructions for command level programs. Identified and recommended policy changes and practices that were barriers to EEO reflecting the composition of the civilian labor force in terms of proper representation from special interest groups, including minorities, women and persons with disabilities. Prepared and delivered educational programs for a diverse workforce and inclusive workplace. Provided instructions for the administration of a discrimination complaint process for both individual and class complaints based on knowledge of EEO laws and Federal regulations. Analyzed complaint data and generated creative responses or techniques to track and display results. Planned and developed reporting systems to assess and respond to critical incidents of harassment and/or discrimination. Reported and made recommendations on the status of complaints. Developed uniform policy guidance for counseling and investigative processes. Recommended policy and guidance for all command equal opportunity program functional assignments. Assisted with the development and implementation of EEO training for employee orientation, special awareness programs and management/supervisory training; applied and implemented EEO-related workshops for all levels of employees, supervisors and managers; provided advice to the Base Commanding Officer (CO), managers and supervisors; and made written materials available to all employees and applicants to ensure understanding and implementation of equal opportunity programs within the Sasebo Navy Base. Developed, analyzed, and advised on statistical data related to the civilian workforce, special interest groups, minorities, women and persons with disabilities. Designed, developed, and maintained automated databases and systems to meet the needs of the activity. Designed, manipulated, and maintained Excel, Access, EEO databases and prepared softcopy EEO reports. Researched, evaluated, analyzed and advised on programs and organizational information based on analysis of data. Utilized word processing and related software functions, techniques and capabilities in support of office functions. Assimilated and translated data into an automated system to retrieved and displayed data for use as management information resources.
